This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to information received by the Digital Stationery Consortium, Inc. (hereinafter “DSC” or “we” or “us”) from its members and prospective members when you interact with and use our services. This Policy describes how DSC may collect, use, and share information about you that it collects when you interact with our services including our main website, including emails (www.digitalstationeryconsortium.com) (“Website”), as well as when you interact with DSC through blogs, newsletters, and social media (collectively referred to as “DSC Services”).

This Policy applies to persons anywhere in the world (hereinafter “Visitors”) who interact with or use DSC Services to obtain information about our organization, its membership, and membership services offered by DSC.

What Personal Information do we collect?

DSC may collect Personal Information about you when you use or interact with our DSC Services or otherwise communicate with us. Personal Information that we collect may include your name, telephone number, address, and email address.

Transaction Information: DSC does not collect payment information from you. Instead, DSC will send you an invoice for certain services and request that you electronically wire payment for such services to DSC. 

Log Information: When you interact with our website, DSC may collect usage information from server logs, which may include personal information such as device IP addresses, and access dates and times.

Usage and Preference Information: DSC collects information about how you interact with DSC Services. For example, we may aggregate anonymous information about you and other visitors who use our DSC Services. The information we collect may include browser type, plugins, cookie preferences, search engine keywords, JavaScript enablement, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system software, screen resolutions, and screen color capabilities. Aggregated information will not contain any information that can be linked or identified directly back to you.

How do we collect your Personal Information?

DSC may use a number of tools to collect information about you, your computer access points, your Internet Protocol (IP) address, and the web browser that you use to connect to our Website or Internet Accounts, such as usage and preference information. For example, we may use cookies or pixel tags to collect information and personalize your interaction with our website.

We use Cookies for a variety of reasons, including studying visitors’ use of our website for the purpose of improving usability. Pixel Tags

A pixel tag, also known as a Web Beacon, is a type of technology placed on a website for the purpose of tracking certain activities, such as views of webpages on a website. Pixel tags are often used in combination with cookies. When you access our website, pixel tags generate a generic notice of that visit. If you turn off cookies, the pixel tag will simply detect an anonymous website visit. Pixel tags help us analyze our visitors’ online behavior and measure the effectiveness of our website. We work with service providers that help us track, collect, and analyze this information.

Pixel tags on our website may be used to collect information about your visit, including the web pages you view, the features you use, the links you click, and other actions you take in connection with our Website. This information may include your computer’s IP address, your browser type, your operating system, date and time information, and other technical information about your computer. We do not track any information about your use of other third-party websites you may visit throughout the Website.

Google Analytics

We use a tool provided by Google LLC called “Google Analytics” to collect information about the use of the Website. The precise information collected can vary by device and environment. We use the information we receive from Google Analytics for Firebase to understand the number of users using the Website and how they behave on the Website.

Google Analytics uses identifiers for advertising on mobile applications such as Android Advertising ID and Advertising Identifier for iOS, and we may collect such identifiers in order to serve you better content. How do we use your Personal Information?

DSC uses the Personal Information that we collect from you to:

• Contact you via mail, e-mail, or telephone in order to respond to your request for information about DSC Services when you have provided consent for us to do so;
• Provide you with updates about DSC Services, or other promotions that may be of interest to you;
• Provide marketing materials where you have provided consent for us to do so;
• Provide you with support relating to DSC Services and other operational communications that are necessary for the performance of DSC Services you have purchased or requested;
• DSC uses your IP address to help protect DSC and our Internet Service Providers from fraud;
• DSC will provide you with choice and means for opting out, limiting the use and disclosure of your Personal Information, or withdrawing consent before DSC uses or discloses the Personal Information for a purpose other than for which it was originally collected.

Disclosure of your Personal Information to third parties

DSC will never sell your Personal Information to any third party.

In some business instances, DSC may use the services of independent companies to provide certain services to you, including, without limitation, database hosting services, credit card processing, order processing, and guest surveys (“Service Providers”). DSC may share your Personal Information with these Service Providers as appropriate. DSC will not share your Personal Information with other third parties without your consent, except to the extent such shared personal information is necessary to complete your request for DSC Services offered through the Website.

Your rights in relation to your Personal Information are to:

1. Be informed about what information is collected and its use;
2. Have access to your information;
3. Correct any errors in your Personal Information;
4. Have your Personal Information deleted in certain situations;
5. Restrict how we use your Personal Information; and

How long will we retain your Personal Information?

We do not retain your Personal Information longer than is necessary, taking into account any legal obligations we have (e.g., to maintain records for tax purposes, to comply with contract terms). If you would like to have your Personal Information deleted once you no longer want to continue to use DSC Services, please submit a request in writing to info@digitalstationeryconsortium.org.

How do we secure your Personal Information?

No method of securing information over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure; therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any Personal Information. However, in securing Personal Information, we utilize reasonable, generally accepted technical and organizational security measures to protect your Personal Information against loss, misuse, or alteration throughout collection, transmission, processing, and storage, including the physical security of our facilities.

For example, whenever we collect Personal Information, it is encrypted and transmitted to us using the latest secure transport layer protocol TLS 1.2 encryption methods. You can verify this in different ways on different browsers by looking for a closed locked icon, a green location bar, or verifying that “https” is used at the beginning of the address on the web page.

Children’s Information

Content on our Website is not intended to be directed towards children who are under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13, nor do we intentionally market services to anyone under the age of 13. If DSC becomes aware that a child has provided Personal Information without parental consent, that Personal Information will be deleted from our databases.

International Transfer of Information

The Personal Information we collect from you as described above may be collected, transferred to, and stored in countries outside of the jurisdiction in which you reside, for the purposes specified in this Policy. Any international transfers of your Personal Information will be made pursuant to appropriate safeguards in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.

Information for European Economic Area Residents

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, this portion of our Privacy Policy advises you of your rights and protections under applicable law regarding the processing of your “personal information,” as defined by the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). When we process your Personal Information, we will only do so when we have established a legitimate interest in providing DSC Services to you, when processing is necessary for the performance of a contract between you and us, when processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject, or when we have your consent. When processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw such consent at any time by sending us an email to info@digitalstationeryconsortium.org.

You also have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and ask that your personal information be corrected, deleted, or transferred. You may also have the right to object to, or request that we restrict, certain processing.

These rights may be limited in some situations, for example, where we can demonstrate that we have a legitimate basis to process your information. In some instances, this may mean that we are able to retain your information even if you withdraw your consent.

We may provide external links to third-party sites as a benefit to you and other visitors to our Website.  For example, the Website uses interfaces with social media websites or platforms that are owned and/or controlled by third parties, such as Facebook®, LinkedIn®, and Twitter®. We have no control over the content of any third-party sites. Therefore, we are not responsible for any information contained on these sites. Also, we are not responsible for the privacy policies of these sites and the information they may gather. We urge you to review the privacy policy of any site that you visit before providing your Personal Information.

Special Notice to California Residents

In general, DSC as a not-for-profit organization is not covered by the terms of the California Consumer Privacy Act.

However, California residents have the right under California Civil Code section 1798.83 to request a list of all third parties to which we, during the immediately preceding calendar year, have disclosed certain personal information for direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information about you with any third parties for their own marketing purposes. We are only required to respond to such a request once during any calendar year. To make such a request, you should send a letter to info@digitalstationeryconsortium.org. Please be aware that not all information sharing is covered by the California privacy rights requirements and only information sharing that is covered will be included in our response,

Your continued use of DSC Services after such notice constitutes consent to those changes.
